Mogito Open Access Journals of Cell & Developmental Biology (MJCDB) Editorial Policy

Mogito Open Access Journal of Cell & Developmental Biology (MJCDB)

At the Mogito Open Access Journal of Cell & Developmental Biology (MJCDB), we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of editorial integrity, scientific rigor, and ethical publishing. Our editorial policies are designed to ensure transparency, inclusivity, and credibility in the communication of scientific research in the fields of cell and developmental biology.

1. Editorial Independence

The editorial process at MJCDB is fully independent. Editorial decisions are made without influence from the publisher, advertisers, or external stakeholders. The Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Board are responsible for selecting content that meets the journal’s scientific and ethical standards, and decisions are based solely on the relevance, originality, methodological soundness, and significance of the submission.

2. Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to MJCDB undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process:

  • Each manuscript is initially assessed by the editorial office for scope, formatting, and compliance.

  • Eligible submissions are sent to at least two independent reviewers with expertise in the relevant subject area.

  • Reviewers provide structured evaluations on the manuscript’s scientific merit, clarity, and originality.

  • Based on reviewer feedback, the editorial team will issue a decision: accept, revise, or reject.

We strive for timely reviews and constructive feedback that supports authors in improving the quality of their work.

3. Open Access and Licensing

MJCDB publishes all content under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). This ensures:

  • Immediate, free access to all published content

  • The right to reuse, distribute, and reproduce the material with appropriate citation

  • Enhanced visibility and citation potential for authors

We believe open access supports a more equitable and globally connected scientific community.

4. Ethical Guidelines

MJCDB adheres strictly to the ethical standards outlined by:

  • Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE)

  • International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE)

  • World Association of Medical Editors (WAME)

Authors are expected to:

  • Ensure originality and proper attribution

  • Avoid plagiarism, data fabrication, and redundant publication

  • Disclose any potential conflicts of interest

  • Follow ethical research practices, including IRB approvals and informed consent for studies involving human or animal subjects

5. Authorship & Contributor Roles

All listed authors must meet ICMJE criteria for authorship, including:

  • Significant contribution to the conception, design, data acquisition, or analysis

  • Drafting or critically revising the manuscript

  • Final approval of the version to be published

  • Accountability for all aspects of the work

We encourage the use of CRediT (Contributor Roles Taxonomy) to clarify individual roles in collaborative research.

6. Data Transparency and Availability

MJCDB encourages data sharing and reproducibility. Authors should:

  • Provide detailed methodology and data availability statements

  • Deposit datasets in recognized public repositories, when applicable

  • Ensure data underlying the findings are accessible upon reasonable request

7. Appeals and Complaints

Authors have the right to appeal editorial decisions. Appeals must be submitted in writing, outlining the basis for reconsideration. All appeals will be reviewed by a senior editor or independent member of the editorial board.

Complaints related to editorial conduct or publication ethics will be handled in accordance with COPE guidelines.

8. Corrections, Retractions, and Post-Publication Updates

MJCDB is committed to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record. Corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions will be issued when:

  • Errors significantly affect the interpretation of the findings

  • Research misconduct or ethical violations are discovered post-publication

All updates will be clearly marked and linked to the original article.

9. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

MJCDB values and promotes diversity and inclusion in science. We strive to:

  • Ensure diverse representation on our editorial board and reviewer pool

  • Support submissions from underrepresented regions and early-career researchers

  • Foster a respectful, inclusive publishing environment for all contributors
