This Author’s Guide outlines our submission requirements, manuscript preparation standards, and publication policies to support a transparent, efficient, and high-quality publishing process.

1. Scope of the Journal

MJCDB publishes peer-reviewed original research, reviews, short communications, and perspectives in all areas of cellular and developmental biology, including but not limited to:

  • Cell structure, signaling, and physiology

  • Stem cells and regenerative biology

  • Developmental genetics and morphogenesis

  • Organogenesis and tissue engineering

  • Molecular biology and gene regulation

  • Epigenetics and transcriptional control

  • Imaging technologies and single-cell analysis

  • Disease modeling and translational developmental biology

  • Evolutionary developmental biology (Evo-Devo)

We encourage interdisciplinary and collaborative studies that expand the frontiers of biological research and contribute to scientific advancement globally.

2. Manuscript Types Accepted

  • Original Research Articles

  • Review Articles

  • Perspective and Commentary

  • Case Reports (where applicable)

  • Methodological Papers

  • Editorials and Special Issue Contributions

3. General Submission Requirements

  • Manuscripts must be written in clear, concise English.

  • Submissions must be original and not under consideration elsewhere.

  • All manuscripts must include author affiliations, ORCID iDs (where available), conflict of interest declarations, and funding disclosures.

  • Manuscripts must be submitted electronically via email to:

4. Manuscript Preparation Guidelines

Please organize your manuscript as follows:

Title Page

  • Title of the manuscript

  • Full names of all authors

  • Institutional affiliations

  • Corresponding author contact details

  • Keywords (3–7)

  • Short running title (max 50 characters)

Abstract

  • Maximum 250 words

  • Structured format (for original articles): Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion

Main Text

Recommended structure for original research:

  • Introduction

  • Materials and Methods

  • Results

  • Discussion

  • Conclusion

References

  • Follow Vancouver or APA style consistently

  • Use reference management tools like EndNote, Zotero, or Mendeley

  • List all authors if fewer than six; for more than six, list the first six followed by et al.

Figures and Tables

  • Numbered sequentially and cited in the text

  • Submit figures in high-resolution (300 dpi minimum)

  • Tables should be editable (not embedded images)

Supplementary Materials

  • Clearly labeled and referenced in the main text

  • Upload separately during submission

5. Ethical Considerations

  • Research involving humans or animals must include evidence of ethical approval from appropriate review boards.

  • All authors must disclose conflicts of interest and provide a statement of funding support.

  • Authors must confirm that all data is accurate, verifiable, and properly cited.

MJCDB follows ethical guidelines set by COPE, ICMJE, and WAME.

6. Authorship Criteria

Authorship must be based on:

  • Substantial contributions to the conception, design, data acquisition, or analysis

  • Drafting or revising the manuscript critically

  • Final approval of the version to be published

  • Accountability for all aspects of the work

Use of CRediT taxonomy to indicate individual roles is encouraged.

7. Open Access and Licensing

All articles in MJCDB are published under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0). This allows:

  • Free access and distribution

  • Proper citation and reuse

  • Broad dissemination and visibility

There are no subscription barriers — all content is freely available online.

8. Article Processing Charges (APC)

To sustain our open access model, an Article Processing Charge (APC) may apply upon acceptance.

9. Submission and Review Timeline

  • Initial editorial review: 3–5 business days

  • Peer review: Typically 3–4 weeks

  • Revision period: 14–21 days

  • Online publication: Within 1 week of final acceptance

10. Post-Publication Updates

MJCDB supports post-publication updates, corrections, or retractions in accordance with COPE guidelines to ensure the integrity of the scholarly record.
