This guide outlines the submission process, manuscript preparation, and ethical standards required for publication in MJOCS.

1. Scope of the Journal

MJOCS publishes peer-reviewed articles focused on the advancement of research, clinical practice, and global awareness in oncology and cancer studies. We welcome submissions in areas including, but not limited to:

  • Molecular Oncology and Cancer Genetics

  • Immunotherapy and Targeted Treatments

  • Clinical and Translational Oncology

  • Radiation and Surgical Oncology

  • Early Detection and Diagnostic Imaging

  • Epidemiology and Cancer Prevention

  • Palliative Care and Survivorship

2. Types of Manuscripts Accepted

MJOCS accepts the following article types:

  • Original Research Articles – Novel clinical or laboratory findings in oncology

  • Review Articles – Structured reviews of key oncology topics

  • Systematic Reviews & Meta-Analyses – Comprehensive evidence syntheses

  • Case Reports & Case Series – Unusual or impactful clinical cases

  • Technical Notes – Innovations in oncology diagnostics or therapeutics

  • Brief Communications – Concise reports on emerging research

  • Editorials & Perspectives – Expert viewpoints (typically by invitation)

  • Letters to the Editor – Critical responses or commentary

3. Manuscript Preparation Guidelines

A. Formatting Requirements

  • Submit in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx)

  • Font: Times New Roman, size 12

  • Line spacing: 1.5, with page numbers throughout

Title page must include:

  • Full manuscript title

  • Names and institutional affiliations of all authors

  • Corresponding author’s name, email, and full contact details

B. Abstract and Keywords

  • Required for research and review articles (max. 250 words)

  • Structured format for research articles: Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion

  • Include 4–6 keywords under the abstract

C. Main Text Structure

For Original Research Articles, use the IMRAD format:
Introduction – Methods – Results – Discussion – Conclusion
Other article types should follow appropriate structure (e.g., Case Reports: Introduction, Case Description, Discussion)

4. References and Citation Style

  • Use Vancouver citation style

  • Number references in the order they appear in the text

  • Include only peer-reviewed or publicly accessible sources

  • Ensure citation formatting is consistent and complete

5. Figures and Tables

  • Include at the end of the manuscript or as separate high-resolution files

  • Number sequentially (e.g., Figure 1, Table 1)

  • Provide titles and legends

  • Image resolution must be ≥ 300 dpi

  • Obtain consent for any patient-identifiable material

6. Ethical Considerations

A. Human and Animal Studies

  • Include documentation of ethics committee approval

  • Confirm that informed consent was obtained for human subjects

  • Follow applicable national and international ethical standards

B. Plagiarism and Originality

  • Manuscripts must be original and not under review elsewhere

  • All submissions are screened for plagiarism

  • Authors are responsible for the scientific validity of their work

C. Authorship

  • MJOCS follows ICMJE authorship criteria

  • All authors must contribute significantly

  • Any authorship changes post-submission require written consent from all authors

7. Peer Review Process

  • MJOCS operates a double-blind peer review

  • Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent experts

  • Average decision time: 4 to 6 weeks

  • Revisions may be required based on reviewer/editorial feedback

8. Open Access Policy

MJOCS is a fully open access journal. All articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0), permitting unrestricted reuse with proper citation.
