Mogito Open Access Journal of Neurology & Brain Sciences (MJNBS)

1. Scope of Content

MJNBS publishes high-quality, peer-reviewed content that advances the understanding, diagnosis, and treatment of neurological and brain-related disorders. The journal accepts:

• Original research articles

• Systematic reviews and meta-analyses

• Clinical case studies and neuroimaging reports

• Translational and basic neuroscience research

• Technical reports and methodological innovations

• Editorials, commentaries, and perspectives

• Letters to the editor and correspondence

MJNBS welcomes submissions addressing:

• Neurodegenerative diseases (e.g., Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s)

• Epilepsy, stroke, and cerebrovascular disorders

• Cognitive, behavioral, and affective neuroscience

• Traumatic brain injury and neurorehabilitation

• Neurodevelopmental and neuropsychiatric conditions

• Brain imaging and electrophysiological diagnostics

• Neuropharmacology and molecular neuroscience

• Sleep disorders and neuroendocrinology

• Global neurology and public brain health

• Neuroscience of aging and dementia care

2. Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to MJNBS undergo a double-blind peer review to ensure impartial and rigorous evaluation. Each submission is reviewed by at least two independent experts based on:

• Scientific validity and research design

• Relevance to neurology and brain sciences

• Innovation and clinical/scientific contribution

• Clarity of data presentation and conclusions

• Academic quality and ethical soundness

In cases of significant discrepancy, a third reviewer or senior editor will be consulted. Authors are expected to revise manuscripts in response to reviewer feedback. Final publication decisions are made by the Editorial Board, guided by fairness, confidentiality, and efficiency.

3. Authorship & Contributions

MJNBS follows the authorship criteria established by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). Authorship is reserved for individuals who have substantially contributed to:

• Study conception and design

• Data collection, analysis, or interpretation

• Drafting or critical revision of the manuscript

• Final approval of the version to be published

• Responsibility for all aspects of the work

All contributions must be disclosed at submission. Ghost, guest, or honorary authorship is not permitted.

4. Ethical Standards

MJNBS adheres to the ethical guidelines set forth by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All submissions must include:

• Ethical approval from institutional review boards (IRBs) for human/animal research

• Informed consent for patient data, identifiable images, or interviews

• Disclosure of all potential conflicts of interest

• Original, unpublished content with appropriate citation of prior work

Alleged misconduct (e.g., plagiarism, data falsification) will be thoroughly investigated, and appropriate action—including retraction or institutional reporting—may be taken.

5. Open Access Policy

MJNBS is a fully open access journal. All published content is freely available under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0), permitting unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction, provided proper credit is given to the original authors.

6. Data Transparency & Availability

Authors are strongly encouraged to provide data availability statements and share datasets, software, and supplementary materials to promote reproducibility and transparency. Exceptions may apply for legal, ethical, or privacy reasons.

7. Corrections, Retractions & Expressions of Concern

To preserve scientific integrity, MJNBS will issue:

• Corrections – For minor errors that do not affect conclusions

• Retractions – For confirmed ethical breaches or invalid findings

• Expressions of Concern – When unresolved issues arise post-publication

All notices will be clearly labeled and linked to the original article.

8. Editorial Independence

MJNBS upholds complete editorial independence. Decisions are made free from external influence by funders, institutions, advertisers, or sponsors. Editors and reviewers are chosen for their expertise, impartiality, and commitment to ethical publishing.

9. Appeals & Complaints

Authors may appeal editorial decisions by submitting a detailed justification. Appeals are reviewed by senior editors or an independent committee. All complaints ethical or procedural will be handled confidentially, in alignment with COPE guidance.

10. Indexing and Archiving

MJNBS actively seeks inclusion in reputable indexing platforms, including:

• Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ)

• Scopus

• PubMed Central (in progress or upon eligibility)

Published content is archived digitally to ensure permanent accessibility and citation integrity.
