Our scope embraces the full continuum of global health and epidemiology — from infectious disease surveillance, health systems analysis, and environmental health to non-communicable diseases, maternal and child health, social determinants, and public health policy — ensuring that every published article contributes meaningfully to the betterment of population health and equity worldwide.

Editorial Policy

1. Scope of Content

MJGHE publishes high-quality, peer-reviewed content that advances global health knowledge, epidemiological research, and public health practice. The journal accepts:

  • Original research articles

  • Systematic reviews and meta-analyses

  • Field studies and implementation research

  • Technical notes and public health innovations

  • Case reports and epidemiological investigations

  • Editorials, policy perspectives, and correspondence

MJGHE welcomes submissions addressing:

  • Global disease surveillance and outbreak response

  • Epidemiological methods and data modeling

  • Infectious and non-communicable diseases

  • Health equity and social determinants of health

  • Health systems, policy, and global governance

  • Environmental and occupational health

  • Maternal, child, and reproductive health

  • Vaccination and preventive public health programs

  • Climate change and its impact on health

  • Humanitarian health, migration, and displaced populations

2. Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to MJGHE undergo a double-blind peer review to ensure objective and rigorous evaluation. Submissions are reviewed by at least two independent experts based on:

  • Scientific soundness and methodological validity

  • Relevance to global health and population-level impact

  • Innovation and contribution to epidemiological practice

  • Public health significance and policy implications

  • Clarity, structure, and academic quality

In cases of major disagreement, a third reviewer or senior editor may be consulted. Authors are expected to address reviewer comments during the revision process. Final decisions are made by the editorial board, ensuring fairness, confidentiality, and timeliness.

3. Authorship & Contributions

MJGHE adheres to the ICMJE authorship criteria. Authorship is limited to individuals who have made substantial contributions in one or more of the following areas:

  • Study design or conceptualization

  • Data collection, analysis, or interpretation

  • Drafting or critically revising the manuscript

  • Final approval of the published version

  • Accountability for all aspects of the work

All author contributions must be disclosed at submission. Guest, honorary, or ghost authorship is strictly prohibited.

4. Ethical Standards

MJGHE upholds the principles and best practices recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All submissions must include:

  • Ethical approval from an appropriate ethics board for studies involving human or animal participants

  • Informed consent for identifiable patient data, interviews, or images

  • Full disclosure of any financial or personal conflicts of interest

  • Assurance of originality and avoidance of plagiarism or redundant publication

Suspected violations will trigger thorough investigations and may result in retraction, rejection, or institutional notification.

5. Open Access Policy

MJGHE is a fully open access journal. All content is published under a Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0), allowing unrestricted reuse, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original author and source are properly credited.

6. Data Transparency & Availability

To promote research transparency and reproducibility, authors are encouraged to provide a data availability statement and share underlying datasets, code, and supplementary materials whenever possible. Exceptions for ethical, legal, or privacy reasons are permitted.

7. Corrections, Retractions & Expressions of Concern

MJGHE is committed to maintaining the integrity of the scientific record. The journal will issue:

  • Corrections – For factual errors that do not alter conclusions

  • Retractions – For confirmed ethical violations or critical flaws

  • Expressions of Concern – When unresolved issues arise with a published work

All such notices will be clearly labeled and permanently linked to the original article.

8. Editorial Independence

MJGHE maintains full editorial independence. Decisions are made without influence from sponsors, institutions, advertisers, or external stakeholders. Editors and reviewers are selected based on expertise, impartiality, and ethical standing. The journal does not accept advertising that may compromise editorial judgment.

9. Appeals & Complaints

Authors have the right to appeal editorial decisions with a clear, reasoned explanation. Appeals are reviewed by a senior editorial committee. All complaints or ethical concerns are handled in strict confidence, in line with COPE guidelines.

10. Indexing and Archiving

MJGHE actively pursues inclusion in globally recognized indexing databases, including:

  • Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ)

  • Scopus

  • PubMed Central (in progress or upon eligibility)

All published articles are archived digitally to ensure long-term access and citation continuity.
