At the Mogito Open Access Journal of Biotechnology & Bioengineering (MJBB), we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of scholarly publishing through a transparent, fair, and rigorous editorial process. Scope of the Journal

MJBB publishes original research articles, reviews, short communications, case studies, and perspectives in all areas of biotechnology and bioengineering. We welcome contributions from disciplines including but not limited to:

Genetic and metabolic engineering
Bioinformatics and computational biology
Bioprocess and fermentation technology
Tissue engineering and regenerative medicine
Synthetic biology
Environmental and agricultural biotechnology
Biomedical engineering and biomaterials
Industrial and pharmaceutical biotechnology

Editorial Independence

MJBB ensures editorial independence, with decisions made solely based on academic merit, relevance to the journal’s scope, scientific rigor, and ethical standards. Editorial decisions are free from commercial influence, institutional affiliations, or conflicts of interest.

Peer Review Process

All submitted manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process. Each manuscript is evaluated by at least two independent reviewers with subject-matter expertise. Reviewers are selected for their qualifications, impartiality, and commitment to constructive critique.

The peer review process evaluates:

Scientific quality and originality
Methodological soundness
Clarity and relevance
Ethical compliance
Contribution to the field

Final publication decisions are made by the Editor-in-Chief or an assigned Associate Editor based on the reviewers' recommendations.

Editorial Board Responsibilities

Members of the Editorial Board are expected to:

Uphold the journal’s ethical and scholarly standards
Participate in manuscript evaluation and editorial decision-making
Advise on journal policy, scope, and special issues
Promote the journal’s visibility and mission
Safeguard the integrity of the peer review process

Author Responsibilities

Authors submitting to MJBB must ensure:

Originality of submitted work (no plagiarism or duplicate publication)
Proper citation of sources and prior work
Full disclosure of conflicts of interest
Adherence to ethical guidelines in research involving humans, animals, or sensitive data
Transparency in methodology, data availability, and funding sources

Ethics and Misconduct

MJBB follows international standards for publishing ethics, including COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines. Cases of misconduct — including fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, or unethical experimentation — are taken seriously and investigated thoroughly. Consequences may include article retraction, author sanctions, and institutional notification.

Open Access and Copyright

MJBB is an open access journal. All published articles are freely accessible online and distributed under a Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY), allowing others to share and adapt the work with proper citation. Authors retain copyright.

Appeals and Complaints

Authors and reviewers may submit formal appeals or complaints related to editorial decisions or conduct. These are handled confidentially by the editorial office and reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief or an ethics advisory panel as appropriate.
