1. Scope of Content

MIJMS welcomes a broad range of high-quality submissions aimed at advancing knowledge across all disciplines of medical science. We accept original research articles, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, clinical case reports, brief communications, editorials, and letters to the editor. Relevant subject areas include but are not limited to:

  • General and Internal Medicine

  • Public Health and Epidemiology

  • Biomedical and Translational Research

  • Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Pediatrics

  • Health Policy, Systems, and Global Health

  • Medical Technology and Innovations

  • Diagnostic, Preventive, and Therapeutic Practices

  • Medical Education and Ethics

All submissions must demonstrate scientific rigor, clinical relevance, and ethical research standards.

2. Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to MIJMS undergo a double-blind peer review to ensure unbiased and rigorous evaluation. Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent experts, with oversight from an assigned editorial board member.

The peer review process assesses:

  • Scientific quality and originality

  • Methodological accuracy and clarity

  • Ethical compliance

  • Relevance to the journal’s scope

  • Contribution to the field of medical science

In cases of conflicting reviewer opinions, a third reviewer or senior editor may be consulted. Authors are expected to revise their manuscripts in response to reviewer feedback.

3. Authorship & Contributions

MIJMS adheres to the authorship guidelines of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). To qualify as an author, individuals must contribute substantially to:

  • Study design or concept

  • Data acquisition, analysis, or interpretation

  • Drafting or critically revising the article

  • Final approval of the version to be published

Authors must clearly state each contributor’s role, affirming responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of the entire work.

4. Ethical Standards

MIJMS is committed to maintaining the highest standards of ethical publishing, in accordance with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

  • Research involving human participants or animals must include ethics committee approval and informed consent.

  • All conflicts of interest (financial or non-financial) must be disclosed.

  • Plagiarism, data falsification, and unethical research practices are strictly prohibited and may lead to rejection or retraction.

  • Duplicate submissions or redundant publications are not permitted.

5. Open Access Policy

MIJMS is a fully open access journal. All published articles are freely accessible without subscription barriers. Articles are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0), allowing unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction, provided the original work is properly cited.

6. Data Transparency & Availability

Authors are strongly encouraged to share datasets and materials that support their findings. A data availability statement should be included in the manuscript. Where appropriate, data should be deposited in publicly accessible repositories, unless ethical or legal constraints apply.

7. Corrections, Retractions & Expressions of Concern

MIJMS is committed to maintaining an accurate and trustworthy scholarly record.

  • Corrections will be issued for genuine mistakes.

  • Retractions will be considered in cases of research misconduct, major errors, or ethical violations.

  • Expressions of concern may be published while investigations are ongoing.

All notices will be clearly linked to the original article and openly accessible.

8. Editorial Independence

Editorial decisions at MIJMS are made with full independence from commercial or institutional influence. Editors and reviewers are selected for their subject expertise and professional integrity. The journal does not accept advertising or sponsorship that could compromise editorial decisions or scientific standards.

9. Appeals & Complaints

Authors may appeal editorial decisions by submitting a reasoned request to the editorial office. Appeals are reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief or a designated senior editor.
